科莱中尉站在维莱特庄园的客厅里，注视着逐渐熄灭的烟火，深感沮丧。法希比他早到了一些时辰，此刻正在隔壁的房间里，对着电话筒大声叫嚷，企图以此调整他没能准确找到那辆失踪的"陆虎揽胜"车的情绪。

那个接听电话的布尔歇机场工作人员声称他并不知道飞机上栽了些什么人，也不知道他们飞往何处。在布尔歇机场，飞机是从不按时间表起飞的，也没有什么飞行日志的记录。即使是一个小型机场，这也是很不合法的。法希确信，只要他施加适当的压力，就会找到所要寻找的答案。

雷。提彬坐在索菲的对面，感到人都快爆炸了。他急于想看看那段文字，由于激动，他全身颤抖起来。他俯过身，努力想看看兰登旁边都有些什么东西，但后者仍然猫着腰趴在盒子上。

Despite Langdon’s assurances that the keystone had nothing to do with her past, Sophie stillsensed something deeply personal entwined within this mystery, as if this cryptex, forged by hergrandfather’s own hands, were trying to speak to her and offer some kind of resolution to theemptiness that had haunted her all these years.
